There are disruptions due to construction work around Melbourne Airport. Please check this list so you can plan ahead.

Due to ongoing construction in the T123 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times.

To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, just a short 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups.

Please refer to the map below, where each impact is labelled with a corresponding number for easy reference.

1A. Carriageways 1–4: Night works and intermittent lane closures from 10:00pm to 5:00am. Each lane will be impacted for approximately one hour. This affects Uber, taxi, off-airport buses, and public pick-up areas.

1B. Carriageway 1: Partial closure of the slow lane from 12:00am to 6:00am, 9–11 July. Uber & Taxi: Two bays each will be unavailable during this time.

1C. Departures Drive (Drop-Off Zone): Partial closure of the fast lane from 30 June to 4 July, between 12:00am and 6:00am.

Terminal 1, 2, 3 Car Park

2. Lift Upgrades: Lift upgrades underway at the front lobbies (T1 and T3 ends) from 30 June to 8 August. Two of the three lifts in each lobby will remain operational.

3. Access to Levels 3–6
 You can either:

• Use the rear lifts directly (if entering from the rear of the car park), or
• Take the front lifts to Level 2, follow signage through the car park to the rear lift lobby, then take the rear lifts to your desired level.
• Note: Front lifts only operate between Ground and Level 2. Front lift access to Level 3 is permanently closed due to construction of the new drop-off zone.

4. PARKROYAL Access: From Level 2 is closed. Please use the Ground floor and follow detour signage.

5. Bay Closures:

• Levels 1–6: 20 bays permanently closed on each level for new lift installation.
• Level 2: 580 bays temporarily closed (former Premium Valet area).
• Level 3: 560 bays permanently closed for drop-off zone works.

6. Car Park Exit: Three boom gates operational. Overnight lane closures from 11:00pm to 4:00am.

7. Car Park Entrance: New entrance ramp now operational.

8. Car Rental Returns: Access remains via Centre Road. A new secondary exit lane is also operational via Centre Road.

9. Arrivals Drive: Reduced to three lanes. Forecourt lanes 2, 3, and 4 exit via Melbourne Drive.

10. Pedestrian Access: Detour remains in place between Value Car Park and the terminals.

11. Departures Drive (T1 End): Reduced to one lane. Works ongoing through to December 2025.

12. Naarm Way Ramp: One lane remains closed on the ramp from Tullamarine Freeway to T4 Car Park.

13A. Lane Closure (Night): Single lane closed city-bound from 8–10 July, 10:00pm to 5:00am.

13B. Lane Closure (Day: Single lane closed city-bound from 9–10 July, 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

14. Access Closed: No access during this period.

15A. Northbound Closure: Closed Wednesday 9 July from 10:00pm to 11:59pm. Detour and early warning signage in place.

15B. Full Closure: Closed Wednesday 9 July from 11:59pm to 4:00am. Detour via Tullamarine Freeway.

15C. Southbound Closure: Closed Thursday 10 July from 4:00am to 5:00am. Follow detour signage.

• Assistance is available for passengers in the forecourt area.
• Plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time to account for potential delays.
• For smoother pick-ups, use the T4 pick-up area to avoid congestion in the T123 forecourt.

To support the next stage of Naarm Way Stage 2 construction, there will be significant overnight road works impacting Departures Drive and the Naarm Way Ramp. Please allow extra travel time and follow all signage and detours.

Departures Drive – Night Works

Road works will occur overnight between 11:00pm and 5:00am on the following dates:

• 9 – 11 July: Full closure of Arrival Drive
• 28 – 31 July: Full closure of Arrival Drive
• 4 – 8 August: Two lanes closed on Arrival Drive
• 11 – 15 August: Two lanes closed on Arrival Drive

Naarm Way Ramp – Full Closure

Please be advised that from 10:00pm on Monday, 8 July to 5:00am on Tuesday, 9 July, the Naarm Way Ramp will be fully closed for the removal of an overhead gantry sign.

During this period:

• Access to Terminal Parking will be via the Ground Floor of the Terminal 4 Car Park
• Terminal 4 Pick-Up & Drop-Off will be redirected to the Terminal 1, 2 & 3 Forecourt
• Premium Self Park Terminal 4 will be redirected to the Premium Self Park Terminal 1, 2, 3
